A few notes

Let's try to make a post here again. A little bullet point list, this time around:

★ I'm currently trying out Roam Research. It's far too expensive for me to be something I'm going to keep on using once the trial ends, but it's fun to test out new stuff. I like the "daily notes" thing, and the bi-directional linking... but I also find the interface kind of lacking because everything is based on lists/points - which isn't naturally how I think about things.

Sports have been such a weird thing for me this winter. I almost fell completely out of watching biathlon, and even cross-country skiing has been... something I've watched less than before, event though I still try to keep some track of a certain Johannes, of course.

Speaking of him, he was... shall we call it less than pleased after he got beaten on a couple of sprints earlier in the season, and even said something along the lines of "I don't care for second places."

Yes, I get that he was upset about the loss... but some years ago, a comment like that would never have fallen from his lips. One of the things I initially fell in love with about him, was exactly the fact that he was a normal, sympathetic boy with a (for the most part) normal attitude to things - so different from "other" skiers, no names mentioned to protect my sanity.

This comment? Is exactly the sort of thing I don't like to see in any sport. And from him? I admit, it hurt. It made me sad. And it's just not a very nice thing to say, no matter how you look at it.

I can't just turn off my years of caring about him, though. So, I'm still happy for him when he does good things. Planica was also good, in this sense.

Work is... a bit all over the place, but I still have it. The GDPR project I was originally on, is now more or less done from my side. Instead, I'm now doing some database maintenance (currently moving data from an old system without proper export functionality), fixing up Wordpress issues, and even sometimes some translation work or writing. It's a variety of tasks - much more so than I had originally expected, but I'm definitely not complaining.

Genshin Impact is still my life. Even though I've finished the "main" storyline of the game now, there is still a ton of stuff to do - quests I haven't finished, exploration to do, characters to level up, random things and stuff to gather etc. Also, I managed to get Cyno as a playable character quite recently as well. And listen to this: He came home within 10 wishes after I got Alhaitham. Normally, it takes 75-90 wishes between two 5-star characters, so getting them both so close together is very unusual.

Please let me look at this with my slash goggles on, and tell you that even the gacha system says "do not separate" about those two. Or Cyno came home early, just to be with Alhaitham. Hm. Yes, that is definitely it.

I have to admit that my Cyno isn't very effective to play with as of yet, though. Levelling him up will take quite some time, because one of his levelling materials (scarab beetles) is quite hard for me to find, and I need another 120 of the things to fully level him up. Yes, I have a map of where the beetles are, and I know I can look at Youtube videos to locate them more easily... but I just have little patience for watching videos WHILE doing my own gaming.

On another note - since he was nice and came home so soon, I also decided to wish for his special weapon. It took a lot more wishes to get, but I HAVE IT! So, I have both Alhaitham and Cyno now, and they both got their special weapons, too.

I don't know what it would take to make me wish for someone's special weapon again after this. As I've said before, I usually prefer saving my wishes to use them for characters, so these two weapons are literally something Special I did for my two favourite characters.
