Music discovery
Tuesday, 16 February 2021 01:09I don’t understand.
How is it possible that I had never heard of Igor’ Tal’kov until now?
Spotify gave me one of his songs while I was listening randomly a while ago. I liked it (it was «Летний дождь», btw), but I didn’t think of it much afterwards. The other day I decided to listen to it again, and only then it started to register in my head that it was a truly gorgeous song.
Just now, I saw it again in my playlist, and so I decided to check out some more Tal’kov’s songs. I picked an album that had the one song I’m already familiar with on it, and started listening.
So far, I’m loving absolutely every song. Beautiful voice and melodies, and nothing boring at all. This seems to be the kind of album I could listen to from start to finish, loving every minute. This is that good.
Why has no-one ever mentioned this guy to me? It feels so obvious that this is something I would love. At least if these songs are “typical” ones for him.
... and I see it’s like me to “discover” someone 30 years after his death.
