Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 18:43Sometimes I'm just surprised at what kind of things it's possible to sell online.
We had a robot vacuum cleaner since about 2013. Actually, I had no idea about the year, but that's what it said underneath the thing, so it must be from about then. It's not working too well anymore, because the battery needs replacement. Needless to say, that's a bit annoying, and more so if it stops underneath a sofa or in some other inaccessible place because the battery did not last long enough for it to return to the docking station.
Okay, so yesterday I picked it out from under the sofa. Today it stopped under a table. Well, marginally better than under the sofa, but... you know.
In a moment of annoyance, I decided to put it up for sale online. I did not try to say that it was perfect or any lies like that - I said things exactly as they are, and even mentioned that it might need a new battery. Within an hour, I had a message from some guy who wanted to buy it - and even wanted to pay me quite good money for it (at least "good money" by my definition, for a thing that is at least semi-broken). What's more, said guy also bought one of my old computers (one that's not actually worth that much anymore, because I had not discovered online sales at the time when I replaced that, so it's been sitting unused in a drawer for a few years).
So far, the sale went very well. I hope these things will reach him in good condition, and that he'll be happy with them.
But seriously... buying a half-broken vacuum cleaner? Really?!
Okay, I'm happy, of course. But... wow, so cool!
