Signage is better in the city center, it seems. The signs are still "small" to read from a distance even there, though. (Prague is kinda my gold standard for signs - big lettering, white on red background & therefore easily findable, plus they're readable from at least some distance. Everything that is significantly more difficult than that... could be better :P)

Metro systems = cool! I'm glad you see it like that, too! The friend I travelled with lives in Oslo normally, and there's a nice, big subway system there. Therefore, he doesn't quite get my fascination with this (but he still knows about it, and takes me on it for at least a few stations when I visit him, so he's nice!), because to him it's just a form of local transportation in any big city. He doesn't even use the system in his home city much, because the subway station is further away from his home than the bus stop.
